Undergraduate: Academic Support: Declaring a Major

Declaring a major is an important step in your college career. Research various majors, visit their respective department offices, and ask questions of people who are majoring in an area that interests you. Although you can change your major later, your best bet is to choose wisely the first time and stick with it.


All of the Majors in the College of Engineering and Computer Science are open-access programs, meaning that there are no limitations on students who want to apply. For these programs, the process is simple.

  • Pick up the form called "Undergraduate Major Change Form" from ENGR 107.
  • Read it.
  • Fill it out.
  • Return the form to ENGR 107.
