College of Engineering and Computer Science - Undergraduate Programs

Undergraduate: Academic Support: Registration

Registration is a little complicated, but these step-by-step instructions will make the process flow more easily.

Class Schedule Search
You can search for classes online though MyUCF. First, you need to log in.

  • Point your browser to MyUCF.
  • Log in using your PID and password (how to obtain your PID).
  • In the left-hand menu, click on View Schedule of Classes.
  • Select a Term, for example, "Spring 2004".
  • Insert the subject prefix, for example, "EGN"
  • Insert the Catalog Number, for example, "3211"

You can continue to narrow your search. There are several ways to do this. You can use one or all of the following suggestions.

TIP: Less is better. Fewer fields used allow for better results.

  • Choose a Department to see, for example, all the classes in the Industrial Engineering Department.
  • Uncheck the box next to Open Classes Only to add closed classes to the list.
  • Choose an Instruction Mode to see, for example, only those classes that are taken through the World Wide Web.
  • Choose a Component to see only lectures (LEC - Lecture) or only labs (LAB-Laboratory).
  • Choose a Course Career, either Undergraduate or Graduate.
  • Select only those days you want to either Include or Exclude.
  • Enter an Instructor First Name and/or Instructor Last Name.

Write this down!
Once you have narrowed your search using some or all of the above suggestions, click on Search. The next screen will show the results. If it is a class you think you would like to take, write down or print out the following:

This information is not only important for registering, but for getting overrides and other uses.

Before You Register

Before you register, there are a few things you need to do to make the process go smoothly.

  • Check the Academic Calendar for all the important dates for Registration, Add/Drop, and Late Registration. The Academic Calendar can be found on the UCF website at www.ucf.edu, or in the UCF Schedule Web Guide. During Registration and Add/Drop, you can only register after your appointment time. If you register during Late Registration, you will be charged $100 Late Registration Fee.
  • Get your SASS Degree Audit. If you are not sure how, click here to go to the SASS Audit section of this website.
  • See your advisor. If you are not sure who your advisor is, contact your department.
  • Know your PID and Password. Refer to the section PID & NID for more information.
  • Check for Registration Holds. Registration Holds will appear on the MyUCF welcome page automatically when you log in.
  • Check your Appointment Time. To do this:
    • Point your web browser to MyUCF.
    • Log into MyUCF using your PID and password.
    • On the right hand menu, click on View Enrollment Appointment.
    • Next, click on the semester you want to register for.
    • The screen will then show your appointment time.

Registering for Classes Online

  • Point your web browser to MyUCF.
  • Log into MyUCF using your PID and password.
  • On the right hand menu, click on Enroll/Drop/Withdraw.
  • Next, click on accept the Fee Responsibility Statement.
  • Select the semester for which you want to register.
  • Click on the link that reads "ADD CLASSES."
  • Enter the class number in the corresponding box. If you do not know the class number, you can click on the magnifying glass. Instructions for searching the class schedule are given earlier in this section.
  • When you have entered class numbers for all the classes for which you want to register, click on the Submit button.
  • The page "Class Enrollment - Options" will appear. This page is where you enter the class number for classes that are the non-credit component of classes entered on the previous page; that is, a Lab or Discussion class. For example, many science classes have a Lab, and history classes may have a Discussion. If you do not know the class number for the component, you can use the magnifying next to the box to view the Related Class choices.
  • After you have filled all necessary Related Class and Permission number boxes, click on OK, then the Submit Request button.
  • The next screen will show you a status message for each class enrollment that indicated either successful registration or an error. If an error occurred, you will be directed to view the "error log" so you can see what kept the registration from being completed successfully.
  • To see your new class schedule, click on the View My Schedule link. You may use the Print button on your web browser to print the Class Schedule.
  • After you are finished, you should print out your Fee Invoice.

Obtaining Your Fee Invoice

  • Point your web browser to MyUCF.
  • Log into MyUCF using your PID and password.

  • Your Fee Invoice will appear, which you can then print out and save for your records.
  • A new Fee Invoice should be printed every time you make adjustments to your schedule.
