CECS: Graduation: Filing your Intent to Graduate

Before filing your Intent:

  • Meet with your major advisor (and minor advisor if applicable) for a final check of your degree audit to make sure you will meet the graduation requirements. You may be required to do so before your Intent is approved.
  • Register for classes before attempting to file an Intent.
  • You must be enrolled at UCF during your graduating term. If you do not need to enroll for credit, please stop by ENGR 107 to discuss the matter.
  • YOU SHOULD NOT be enrolled at another institution during your graduating term.

When to File:
Your Intent to Graduate must be filed during the semester PRIOR to your graduating term. When you come into the CECS Academic Affairs Office, you will be given:

  • Intent to Graduate form
  • Check Sheet
  • Exit Survey
Fill all these forms out and return them to ENGR 107 with a copy of your degree audit. If necessary, your audit should contain appropriate substitutions and be signed by your advisor.

When you turn in your Intent, ask the CECS Academic Affairs representative what else, if anything, you need to do. Each semester has a deadline for filing an Intent to Graduate, listed below. If you miss this deadline, you will need to write a letter to the Academic Affairs Office stating why you missed the deadline and asking permission to be added late.

It is a good idea to schedule appointments with the department of your Major or Acadmeic Affairs advisors in order to go over your graduation requirements. Of course, if you have not satisfied all the requirements, you will not graduate.
